The British we all blame them for the Revolution, but little do you know about what really happened. The American Revolution really started before the fighting had started, it began when Britain needed the money after the expensive French Revolution. The Parliament thought the fastest and easiest way to get money was to tax Americans, after that The Sugar Act of 1764 was passed the Sugar Act was an act that put taxes on products from the French West Indies.
The second act was the currency act of 1764 which said the colonists could not print money or start their own banks. The third act was the quartering act of 1765 and made colonists pay for shelter and supplies for the British troops, the last act was the Stamp Act this act made Americans purchase and use stamps on newspaper, pamphlets, and all legal documents and other things. King George III realized that the Americans were starting to become too independent, so he sent troops to enforce the rules show them he was in charge.
The troops increased bad feelings for the Americans, This led to the Battle of Lexington and Concord on April 19, 1775. At this same place the First shot was heard known as the shot heard around the world and that’s how the American Revolution started.
